Young Chang is a well-established Korean piano brand, founded in 1956 by three brothers, Jai, Jai-Young, and Jai-Chang Kim. Initially focusing on importing and distributing Yamaha pianos in South Korea, Young Chang later expanded to manufacture its own instruments and quickly became one of the largest piano producers in the world.
Known for combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, Young Chang produces a variety of pianos, including upright models that offer consistent quality and durability at a relatively affordable price. In the 1990s, Young Chang invested heavily in research and development, even enlisting renowned American piano designer Joseph Pramberger to improve their designs.
Today, Young Chang’s upright pianos are appreciated for their stable tuning, clear tone, and sturdy construction, making them popular for home use, music schools, and beginners worldwide.
